Plywood

Types of Plywood for Modular Kitchen

Plywood is the first choice for almost all Modular Kitchen Interiors. That’s because they are durable, quality, affordable comparatively. They come in different grades which are categorized based on the ISI Standards. 

The two most common types of plywood that are widely used are BWP and BWR plywood. 

BWP stands for Boiling waterproof and BWR for Boiling water-resistant.

BWP and BWR plywood, both are engineered products made by binding together the layers of thin sheets of wood veneers at high pressure and temperature with resin or glue.

BWP Plywood is highly durable and can withstand regular wear and tear for considerable years. It also shows good resistance towards termites and pests when chemically treated with selected preservatives. The genuine marine-grade BWP Plywood can be easily identified by its ISI specification number – ISI:710. This number denotes that this plywood can withstand 72 hours of boiling water.

BWR Plywood is termite-proof plywood which makes it ideal for usage in areas that are extremely prone to the invasion of pests and termites. The ISI specification number for Commercial BWR grade plywood is – ISI:303.

We recommend BWP ISI 710 for Kitchens if your budget allows it. 

Multi wood or PVC Form Board

PVC foam board is made out of Poly Vinyl Chloride, which is used in furniture, building, and advertising industries. 

This PVC foam board is moisture resistant and corrosion-resistant. It is lightweight and also resistant to chemicals.

The overall thickness of the material will range from 6 mm to 45mm. It is feasible to engrave, emboss, paint, print, laminate and mill the surface of the foam board according to your requirements.

One of the most important feature of this foam board is that they will not decay with time and the colour won’t fade making it an ideal choice for Kitchen.

Wood-plastic composites or WPC Board

it is an Eco-friendly material that is emerging as an alternative to natural wood as well as plywood. It is a composite material that constitutes waste Wood fibres and thermoplastics. They are mixed together to form a base material possessing thick consistency.

PU or Polyurethane is a hard, strong, and stretchable polymer used as paints and coatings as protection covers. A PU coating is a protection cover.

PU paint is a premium range of coating which provides a smooth and luxurious finish to the wooden and metallic surface. PU coatings have high resistance against heat, excellent hardness, in-depth clarity, and corrosion-resistance.
